Ligamints and Life

Today, I'm blogging live from Quail Creek Surgical Hospital here in Amarillo, Texas, where my lovely wife is about to go under the knife. It was nearly three weeks ago that her mad soccer skills led to this moment. Don't let anybody fool you, being a soccer mom is dangerous stuff. But a word of advice to you moms and dads out there with Pele aspirations. When the agile, nubile, and decidedly not fragile kids kick the ball and it is fast rolling beyond the practice area. LET IT GO. Those kids can Chase the ball just fine, but if we as parents try some daring, leg jutting move to stop said ball bad shit can and will happen. And doing some awkward knee testing split in the grass will only lead to the destruction of your ACL, the partial destruction of your MCL, and a messed up miniscus. ********************* I hope all my friends in the Dallas/Ft Worth area are fine after yesterdays storms. I had several blog readers and internet friends inquire about me and while I am grateful people care enough to be concerned but I feel compelled to point out that my home here in Amarillo is some 360 miles north and west of Dallas and we only had moderate storms with some small hail. We need the rain so bad that even with large hail we would welcome a storm. ************* I recently did a podcast interview with Reid Kerr and despite the fact I sound a bit like a twangy Kermit the Frog compared to Reid's smooth radio voice I want to share the link so you can check it out. Not sure if the link will work properly since I'm writing this VIA my phone, but here it is. http://reidaboutit.com/?p=1297 ********************** That's all I have for today. I'm sick of fighting my phone to write this so please excuse any typos. Fat fingers, auto correct and a small keyboard are not my friends.
