Along with learning about various places around the globe one of the cool things about My Town Monday's is the different ways people present their town. Last week, Jenny Jill did a little pictorial slide show set to music. This week I am copying her with one of my own, with shots of Amarillo that are from what most would consider the wrong side of the tracks. Thought I's give you some images of things not likely to be found in the Chamber of Commerce pamphlets. Every single image is from inside the city of Amarillo. All were taken by me within the last few days and it's all set to the musical stylings of some fine looking Texas boys ... ZZ Top.

I have been proud to work with people who are survivors. My MTM post talks about Victim Services. Our trainer is a survivor, and I laud her spirit.
We are all in on your MTM bandwagon. It makes like interesting. Keep up the great work!

First, I have tried numerous times over the last few hours to view the whole slideshow.
At just about 2 min into the slideshow, everything stops. The whole production will load, but nothing is played after 2 min.
Should there be more? My system shows that it goes to 5:45, but no sound, fury, or pictures comes forth..
Second, you drive good traffic off of Travis Street...
What libatory offering is required to shift from being a blog that you follow on your profile page, to being a blog that updates on the side of your blog? You know, one that when the blog updates, it jumps up on your sidebar list? :)
I would love to know...

PS I owned a copy of Eliminator in high school. Or grade school. I don't remember, but who knew that those boys were still around... and touring! Are those gentlemen behind the beards the same ones as the original band?
Them boys can play geetar, must be all of the beef they got to eat as kids. Some of those shots were as if they had been taken 'round my town.

Travis, I enjoyed your slide show up to about 2:45 minutes, at which point it quit on me. Perhaps it was because I was eating a salad as I watched? I waited for it to load more, but it seemed that it was loaded and still did not go on. Perhaps it is my computer. It's rainy here today in KY, so maybe everything is slower today.

That bag is covering the tent of a homelss person. There is a cat standing just in front of the tent.

A spudnut is a donut made from potato flour rather than wheat flour. They are quite tasty.
Very cool post. This really gives a feel for Amarillo. The only Amarillo I know is from the Route 66 song...
