Amused

A couple of things that have amused me lately.

First this little illustration about the importance of punctuation. I stole it from Yellowdog Granny's blog.

And then my wife sent me this joke via email.

Sister Mary Ann, who worked for a home health agency, was out

making her rounds visiting homebound patients when she ran out of

gas. As luck would have it, an Texaco Gasoline station was just a block away.

She walked to the station to borrow a gas can and buy some gas.
The attendant told her that the only gas can he owned had been loaned out,

but she could wait until it was returned. Since Sister Mary Ann was on

the way to see a patient, she decided not to wait and walked back to her car.

She looked for something in her car that she could fill with gas

and spotted the bedpan she was taking to the patient.. Always

resourceful, Sister Mary Ann carried the bedpan to the station,

filled it with gasoline, and carried the full bedpan back to her car.

As she was pouring the gas into her tank, two Baptists watched from across
the street.
One of them turned to the other and said,

'If it starts, I'm turning Catholic.'

What has amused you lately?

Bwah ha! That's a good one!
I was amused this morning when I met a blonde at the door of the library. She asked me, "This little door here in the wall that says 'book drop'...is this where I put my books?" Blonde to the roots!

I love that joke! I've seen the punctuation thing before. Good stuff!

I've been amused by the funny commercials I've been seeing during football games. Since I watch everything but football on TiVo, I rarely see commercials. I love the Pepsi Max one where they're all doing that Chris Kattan from SNL head jerk dance and he walks by them and yells "STOP IT!". Funny.

It's way too early right now for me to be amused, but your jokes were pretty decent for 6am!

Sunday mornings while grocery shopping, watching the kiddies "shopping" with mom and dad.

Or,

Listening to staff members asking incredibly stupid questions that even a seven year old could answer.

The only thing that has amused me recently is the phone call to my best friend and reading The Rude Pundit. He never fails to make me laugh so hard I cry.

My husband almost shaved one of his own eyebrows off. That was pretty funny.

I would never have thought to punctuate it the way the women did. Whew, guess my maleness is intact.

Is there a correlation between your punctuation joke and the fact that the additional post requires some serious quality control to fix bad grammar?

Those are great! I especially love the punctuation one.

Amusement...hmm. The presidential campaign has been an endless source of amusement.

Great joke, and the power of punctuation is awesome. Amazing how men and women see things differently.

I'm really amused by all the campaign rhetoric lately - especially as I watch my retirement slip farther and farther into the future.

Thanks for the laugh, Travis. I'd seen the illustration before, but the joke was a new one. Very funny.

Dilbert and his dog usually get a laugh out of me. Family members/friends and their foibles are other good sources.

Good one! We now have power and there is no longer a run on the gasoline in town. This means I won't have to find this nun and learn her secret!
