Fun Run Pics

I appreciate all the well wishes and pats on the back yesterday, but I got one question. Where the hell were all of you this morning when I was attempting to drag my sore and decrepit butt out of bed. I could have used a shoulder to lean on while limping down the hall to the shower. Everything I got hurts this morning, but as promised here is the photographic evidence of my wife's torture.

ME AND THE BOYS AT O' DARK THIRTY BEFORE THE RACE

And here is a video of the race start. You'll see me lumber by a few seconds in.

And right at the finish. Note the bemused look on the onlookers faces.

Back later with a MTM post.

Kudos to you, Travis, for doing it! And a pox on bloglines for not letting me know that you were going to....

Glad you made it, Travis. Your kids are cute.

To me, the words "fun" and "run" do not belong in the same sentence.

dude, you ran in cargo shorts. did you hide a beer in one of those pockets?!

You guys did an excellent job. When they started the race the announcer told when to turn around. "When you reach the EMS truck turn around" I knew at least Travis had a ride back. I got to stay at the finish line with the other mommies drinking our coffee and eating the runners bananas and oranges. Fun times by all. Carnival is always a fun time. This was my last year for carnival committee so I guess I am running next year too.

I went back to watch the video. I think you did beat the little boy in the stroller off the line. You go Travi!!!

Patti -- I'll never tell.

So... wait. Does the existence of video mean that your wife -- the woman who talked you into doing this "run" thing -- wasn't running with you?? ROFL! Seriously, dude, you need to fix that next year. Both or nothing. :D

Angie - No she wasn't running. Supposedly she was cooking beans for the Mexican cafe, but notice she had time to come out and make fun of me. You can hear her voice on the video if you listen closely.

And she's running next year since she won't be on the carnival cafe committee.

Damn Travis - you looked hot racing past that kid in the stroller. Not HAWT but hot like in you need a cold one before getting going. :)

BTW - Mrs. Travis paid me big bucks to post that. *snicker*

If Jennifer's not on the carnival commitee, who's going to cook the beans?

I ran in that one year and I came in 1st in my age division.....that's not saying much, there were only three people in my age division! LOL

Kudos for you doing the Fun Run!!

The kids don't look quite as terrorized as you do. ;)
Kudos to you, though...Really. I'm too GenX to get off my slacker @$$ for such things anymore. *L*

I love these posts on your run. Very good job! I have been walk/running. I love running but I can tell my left knee does not. Argh.

Well done, Travis! All those prayers must have worked.

The early start would have finished me off before the race began. ;)

Dude, I'm with Mrs. Travis. Stand at the finish line drinking coffee & take pictures of my cute kids. WAYYYY more fun than trying to pass a stroller at o dark thirty. :) Congrats on finishing!
