Ahh... Ahhh ... Ahhchoo!

I've been sick.

How sick?

Night before last I downed a hearty shot of that medical elixir that Denis Leary so correctly described as Green Effin Death flavor -- NyQuil. I then sat down on the couch and fell flat asleep -- during the Victoria Secrets fashion show, I might add.

Not that halfway nodding off, head bobbing like a dingy at sea kind of sleep, but the chin on chest slobber dripping kind of comatose sleep usually reserved for the tequila and Jaegermeister abusers of the world.

Did I mention that my slumber occurred while a parade of scantily clad women were traipsing across my crystal clear hi-def big screen?

Generally speaking, that sort of thing is something I can stay up for. (Pun somewhat intended)

If that is not evidence enough of my illness, I offer further proof. I was supposed to go hunting this evening, but I am forgoing my pursuit of filling the freezer with Bambi's kinfolk in lieu of staying home to rest. My guess is that this is the result of an evil conspiracy from PETA. They probably have secret agents working out in the field to breathe germs upon suspected hunters and meat eaters just to keep them indoors just as the rut is starting.

Or maybe that is simply the NyQuil talking.

Either way, I've rattled on long enough on here when I would have preferred to do my rattling out in the wilds in pursuit of a big whitetail buck. Pheasant season starts here tomorrow as well, but I won't be making it out for that either.

I know some of you are going to comment and say, "Travis, if you ate some lettuce or other veggies you probably wouldn't be sick."

To y'all I say, "I drank something green. Isn't that good enough?"

Ah Ha Ha!!! Yea, that stuff if the nastiest freaking crap, EVER!!! But damn, it sure works good, huh? And you would think, with todays' technology, they could put some kind of decent flavor in it, right??

Drinking something green doesn't qualify as a veg. Suck it up and eat something healthy. And feel better. ;o)

He also said: I'm high as a kite and my teeth are green, merry f@&%*n Christmas.

That man has style and Nyquil will put you down.

My brother shot venison on Molokai once. He barbecued the meat. Can't say I enjoyed it. Strange flavor!

Hope you get well soon!

So it is YOUR fault that I am sick! Damn you Travis. I feel like I have a brick sitting in my throat and each time I swallow it is as if someone shattered glass and made me mix it with my spittle and swallow it. The strep test came back negative but the doc says this is going around. "But it doesn't get much worse until the 7th or 10th day." Nice!

Hope you're feeling better Travis. :D

LOL on the Nyquil description. I must be allergic to it. Took a shot a few years ago when I had the crud, and woke up AFTER I fell down outside on the patio the next MORNING. Still got a bum ankle from that magic elixer. eww.

I know you're sick if you missed the V.S. show AND the hunt! Get well soon. DH (deer hunter) texted to say he got a 10-point somewhere in Texas yesterday. How's that for marital communications? :)

Hope you're feeling better soon, but sounds like you have some nice trappings to entice you to stay sick longer..

I prescribe a whole plate of steaming Brussel sprouts cooked down until they are gray, not green.

Not sure it will help, but the idea of getting you to eat them appeals to me.

Men - massive eye roll here

Eat some raw garlic. It works. Ask my Beloved :)

And, it isn't green :)

Hope you feel better soon.

In any event, always be careful when around the family.

I've found that when I become ill, I'm agreeable to anything.

Great way to go broke.

Travis, NyQuil is like poison. Hope you don't have any history of high blood pressure or kidney ailments.

Hot lemon and ginger tea and lots of REST.

LOL! At least being sick hasn't killed your funny. :D

Hang in there and feel better, hon. There'll be more game in the woods next week. {{}}

Is it any consolation that I managed to watch it? Can you live vicariously through me?

Sorry about the germies, they're mean this winter.

I can't imagine being too sick to either watch those pretty ladies or those pretty does.

Doesn't compute for me.

Feel better soon.

I kinda like NyQuil.

Ick - lettuce in a bottle. That's how they make that stuff, don'cha know? It's fermented lettuce juice. It'll probably set you back weeks now from your hunting. Make you sick to even think of lettuce. Oh, that's right, you already had that "problem". Perhaps the illness was a way of your conscience telling you something. I'll leave it to you to figure out what.

PS I hope you feel better soon.

I drank something with green IN it...and in the end has the same result. Sweet slumber.

hope you're feeling better. :-(

Take Care. I believe they sell chilled NyQuil shots to college kids, but failing the VS and deer hunt tests? diagnosis: death's door.

Sorry if you caught it from ME ;->
Do feel better!
In Jamaica, the straightest arrows will go "green" by drinking ganja tea ("green tea") when sick . . . . .

Feel better. I have something evil lurking in my throat and chest, too. But the mighty green stuff won't stay down.

Didn't you know? Jagermeister makes awesome cold medicine. Seriously. Keep it in the freezer. :-)

I hope you feel better soon!

PS: They have a cherry version.

LOL! Liquid Chlorophyll is green, and it's good for you, and you can drink it and then you aren't technically eating vegetables but getting a lot of the benefits of it...

And I agree with the above comments. Denis Leary is just- well- classy. LOL!
