I'm neglecting this blog like a husband with a gambling addiction and a girlfriend on the side neglects his wife. I do like to gamble but I've had neither the time or money for such. However, I do have another writing outlet as most of y'all know and she has been taking nearly all of my creative juices.
But I'm proud to say things are progressing nicely on Plundered Booty. I have added an entirely new character to the mix and he is adding a good bit of punch and comedic aid to that sagging middle of the novel. Matter of fact once I'm finished with Plundered Booty I just may write an entire novel around this former televangelist turned day time talk show host. Think Jerry Springer meets Benny Hinn. Add in my first person narrator Hank, a middle aged car salesman with a heart of gold, but a lifelong pirate fetish, a six pack of sexual deviants, one nymphomaniac, a bitchy diet crazed wife, and an accountant with a secret crush and you have the cast of characters. Oh I forgot the reformed hooker that is the reason the preacher is a former televangelist.

In other news, this blog is now available on Kindle. For a mere 99 cents a month you can have it sent directly to your Kindle if you so choose. Click here to order, or of course you can continue to read right here for absolutely nothing. Also if any of y'all have time stop by the Amazon order page and write up a review of One Word, One Rung, One Day so others will have a clue what this blog is about.

Next week, I'm going to devote the blog to actual talk about the craft of writing. (With the exception of My Town Monday) It's been a while since I've done much of that. Since I consider my writing to be character driven and I feel that creating characters is my strong suit, next week will all be about creating characters. I know not all of you are writers, but most of you are readers if nothing else and I hope to keeps the posts entertaining enough that the non writers will get something out of them as well.
I hope to do three separate posts on characterization, beginning Tuesday.
But for now, it's Booty time.

Thanks for the update Travis! I recently added a new character and just said on Erica's blog that I like her a lot more than I expected.
I can't wait for your posts next week.
And I've been neglecting all the blogging buddies. Also not posting as much on my blogs. It seems to be a common ailment going around these days.
Betcha I got the best excuses though!
Writing should always come first so stick with the Booty. I'm intrigued by your Kindle talk. What are the benefits and do you plan on a moving there permanently at some future point and closing the freebie here?
Ya, I've been neglecting blogging and twittering and facebook -- all for the sake of actual noveling (is that a word???).
I'm looking forward to your posts next week. And, I'll drop by Amazon and leave a comment about this blog. It's still one of my favs.
Keep on with the good work on Booty. I'm eager to get a copy when it's finished.
Your book sounds absolutely hilarious. I can't wait until I can buy it in the bookstore. ;-)
Congratulations on finding your muse, Travis. So just get back there and shake your Booty!!! Can't wait to see it in print.
Yes, congrats on getting some writing accomplished. Can't wait to read your blog posts next week!
You're obviously hard at work. And I'm looking forward to what you put down next week. Characterization is an area where I can use some help, so I'll be tuning in.
I can't wait to read this! It sounds hysterical and I love that kind of thing.
Your blog is kindlized? Wow. That's cool. It's cool when a character develops like that. I rather enjoy such spinoffs.
Your revisions sound awesome, Travis. Don't worry about neglecting the blog - the fiction comes first (speaking as one of the many who can't wait to purchase your novels for my very own). I'll stop back over for the writing posts.
Oooh, new chapter in the booty! That didn't take long; but then again, I have no idea how long you have been working on it! LOL
Kindle? That's those reading things from Amazon that are WAY expensive, right?
I don't know about most people, but if I don't actually have the book in my hand, to smell and turn the pages, than I don't want to read it. Weird?
Nice with the book work my friend!
Never heard of kindle. I myself love to gamble and don't have the money yet still do it, that's a problem
"Think Jerry Springer meets Benny Hinn"
Haha...what a combination! Sounds cool. And congrats on getting into the writing groove with Booty! :)
Sounds like a very interesting cast of characters.
I'm glad things are going well with Plundered Booty. Keep up the good words. =o)
Travis,
The new character has lots of possibilities!
And your blog is on Kindle--you are such a modern man.
Terrie
