Catching up

I made to Albuquerque and back all in one piece. Despite rumors of my supposed shoddy driving in the comments section of an earlier post. Just for the record I'm an excellent driver if I do say so myself.

As a follow up to the last post guess what we saw at the Zoo. For those you who guess giant Tortoises having sex you are right. But that doesn't mean you're not weird. I mean come on who could have guessed that? But there they were going at, and this was like the second or third exhibit we saw. I wanted to take a picture just to share with my blog readers but my wife wouldn't let me, so blame her for your loss. I guess love was in the air this weekend.

Also I had forty some-odd new visitors who stumbled across my blog after an internet search for Amy Winehouse. I hope the cheerleader story at least made them smile before they went on in search of something else. Usually people who find this blog via a google search typed in something weird like ... penis disease in bulldogs. Read here to find out why that phrase links to me.

So who won the name the, Name the New Tuesday Feature? Cher and MR. Shife will share the prize as I'm going to call it ... Terrible Tuesdays with Travis, so if both of y'all will drop me a line at travis @ traviserwin.com I'll send you both a CD.

I'm way behind on my writing, auto repairs, blog reading, critiquing and just about every other thing in my life so this pathetic post will have to suffice for today.

Sweet cherry pie!!! And as excited as I am about winning....and believe me, i am excited...even if i won by a quantity default, I just wanted you to know that I can't express how much I appreciate you typing mr.shife's name and mine in the same sentence. It makes me tingley.

I can't wait until Tuesday to read the first official Terrible Tuesdays with Travis!

Oh, ROFLMAO! I just read the bulldog story and that was great! :D

I'm glad you're having a good time, even if your wife won't let you show us the good pictures. [heavy, theatrical sigh]

Question -- how can you tell where people are referred from? I'm still a newbie in Bloggerville and haven't found that particular tool or whatever, but I'd love to be able to get that info. Thanks!

I totally understand the being behind on the blogging front. You left me a comment an eternity ago and I haven't reciprocated - how crap of me.

I'll be reading more regularly in the future!

Um. Know what I saw at the Honolulu zoo seven years ago?

That's right; giant tortoises having sex.

They get the seven year itch too.

I worked for the National Wildlife Federation working on our tv and film productions. One of producers sent us some footage of giant tortoises getting it on over which he had dubbed in Barry White's Let's Get it On. I haven't been able to look at any turtle the same way ever since.

WTH? Where's the feedstore?

And Igor.. Your driving.. Well, lets just say that the Oh shit handle is there for a reason.

But I still love you more than anyone else I know in Texas.

And you're writing too.

LOL.

Angie there are a number of servies you can use. I happen to use two. statcounter and mybloglog.

Both have free versions. Go to www.statcounter.com or click on the green box to the left of my blog. The one that says my recent readers. At the bottom is a link that says join this community. That one is for mybloglog.

Seeing a picture of two giant tortoises having sex isn't anything like actually watching them - complete with sound effects. Yup. My friend and I had that pleasure at the San Diego zoo about 20 years ago.

Glad you made it back!

I was thinking of starting Miserable Mondays, but changed my mind. If Terrible Tuesdays takes off, though, I may revisit that thought.

I get so freaked out sometimes at the Google searches that send people to my blog! It's wild what people Google!
