Pictures

Here are a few shots that were taken towards the end.

Note the icicles hanging off the charred wood. You might have to click on the photo to enlarge it to see them, but it was mighty cold that morning.

And when it was all said and done ...

Not much left.

Oh Travis! So very, very sad. Yet, what a praise that the boys weren't home and that you and the mrs got out safely.

Hang in there.

It must be so heartbreaking for you to look at. I really feel for you, Travis.

Your experience has caused me to check our fire extinguishers and put more about the house, revise our exit strategies and check our fire alarms.

Suck is when life chooses your stuff to give firefighters a place to practice their craft. It get's better dude.

I went through this about ten years ago - it's a nightmare. But it'll work out with time.

Travis, it's amazing that everyone survived. That has to give you something to hang on to.

As I view the pics I can't help but envision forest fires and how through their devastation, they bring a new beginning.

Sending good thoughts for a fabulous new start.

First time visitor.

Sorry to see your house laying in ruins.

My father had a small construction and remodeling business, and did smoke damage and fire restoration too.

So I've seen many a house that caught on fire, from grease in the kitchen to a Christmas tree that was too dry.

You seem to have a lot of support from bloggers the world over.

Hang in there. And God bless.

The reality is like a smack in the face. I'm so sorry that you and your family lost so much Travis.

I can't wait until you start blogging about the rebuilding because we can all rejoice in the fact that from out of the ashes arose a new home for my favorite Pirate. :) Of course then you'll be a Phoenix Pirate but a pirate none the less.

How sad to see one's physical belonging reduced to that. Remember though, it wasn't your life, it was your things. Your life, your family, is still with you as are all your bloggy friends. Even with the destruction, I can see in the distance the beauty of the area where you live. I hope you can see the beauty in it again soon.

I'm speechless.
