Seventy miles south of Amarillo lies the town of Plainview , Texas. The name is an apt description of the town. Nevertheless, one of Plainview's natives sons passed on this last week.
Known first for his music, and later for his meat let's pay homage by listening to his most popular tune.
And for breakfast you can pay tribute with a nice plate of this.
There is not many men I'd dare say this about, but good bye Jimmy, I'll miss you for your meat.

He must have been like a brother to you, carnivore.
I'm more of a Morning Star sausage substitute kind of gal (hey, I do live in California!). But I will forever associate Jimmy Dean now with My Town Monday. ;)
Bye,
Jimmy

Song and sausage, who can ask for anything more.
I knew the music but didn't know who the artist was.
God rest, I hope the meat goes on!!!
My favorite kind of sausage. Sad to see him go.
When I was a kid in TX, Jimmy Dean was on our school board, which meant my jr. high science class got all the pig parts we could use for practicing dissections.
Tx, Gentleman Jimmy! And, like the barbarian I am, I still love sausage!
Ahhh and breakfast was never better!
Oh, gosh. I did not know he had passed. My cousin used to sing on his TV show. And some blond girl. Jimmy Dean always seemed like such a nice man--yes, a Texas gentleman. Bye to another great Jimmy.
