Ouch

So how's things going at the Erwin household this week?

The tally thus far is 2 sick kids, 2 runny-noses, 2 coughing and grouchy little boys, 1 trip to the doctor,1 ear infection, 2 bottles of decongestant and cough syrup and one bottle of antibiotic.

But the fun doesn't stop there. Today we added 1 trip to the emergency room. Nope not for either boy. Matter of fact they are now well enough to be fighting once again. Nope not for me.(this time) That only leaves my ever-graceful wife.

She teaches preschool Montessori at a catholic school. Today she fell after tripping over one of her little ones. Her choices were to A) land on the kid or B) twist away.
She chose B which meant she did not or could not catch herself. The result a big goose egg on her forehead, a busted lip, two loose teeth, and a CONCUSSION!

The ER waiting room was fun as usual. We had the crotchety old man and his eighty year old wife. He complained the whole time at a very high volume. A man and wife in fight. She pretty much tore him a new one every time he moved or dared to speak. that is when she wasn't running to the restroom to vomit rather loudly. There was the obligatory crackwhore who couldn't sit still and of course two or three people who never heard of deodorant.

So, I'm busy cooking supper, helping with homework, and playing nurse. Which means this crappy blog is what you get for today.

It does my heart good to know that even in a small town you're not deprived of the obligatory crack whore.

I hope your wife feels better soon, and that the dental work isn't too terrible - glad the boys are on the mend, and I have my fingers and toes crossed so that you won't need to catch the cold in order to take a little r&r.

OMG Your poor wife! Two loose teeth?! Ouch!

I hope everyone feels better soon. And of course, with everyone on the sick or injured list, you know what that means.

You're next.

Oh my gosh, send my condolences (meaningless to her as they may be) to your wife. That's terrible. I think this excuses you from blogging for a day or two. Maybe.

Hoping your wife gets better soon.

Same thing happened to a friend's mother. She tripped and instead of falling on one of her kids, she fell to the side and cracked her skull wide open. :(

The emergency room is the MOST fun! I wish my sister would write about the time she had to go to get her neck abscess lanced. If that ain't sexy, I don't know what is.

Your posts have never been crappy.

I hate emergency rooms. At least after my two bike wrecks they rolled me right through the waiting room. I hope your wife feels better soon. My thoughts are with her, and with you playing both roles for a bit.

D@mn. Poor Jenn. Let her know we're thinking of her. Well, and you too, cuz... two sickees and an injured can not be fun to take care of.

I would have landed on the kid. They're soft and squishy and it would have broken the fall.

I'm going to be such a good mother some day...

Ugh! Ear infections and I are best friends. I still have memories of the excruciating pain when I was a child :(

I hope everyone feels better soon.

Well, the good news is--you've raised the bar for all of us bloggers.

Haahaahah!

So even if the whole household is puking their guts up and spewing teeth and general havoc and mayhem are everywhere, you *must* find time to post on your blog!! haaahhaaahahahaaa!

Sorry, but this just cracks the hell out of me! :-)

On a different note though, hopefully your wife feels better soon. THAT part is not fun.

I love it when you're cranky.

One way to shorten your wait in the ER is to projectile vomit. They'll take you right in.

Hope your wife's doing fine by now.

I hope everyone gets well.
And such a descriptive entry on the average emergency room. Hmmm, makes me wonder what it's going to be like when I'm there 24/7.

You poor things!

Aren't hospital waiting rooms the pits? I always get stuck between the drunk and the junkie so now, anyone with less than arterial bleeding just gets a plaster and a dollop of sympathy.

I seem to recall a night at the emergency room with a big hairy guy who stunk to high heaven, maybe some more of that "karma" thing is in the air...

I hope Jen and the boys are on the mend, dont hesitate to call if you need anything..
